Job Responsibilities And Essential Functions Of The Position

Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple responsibilities, including practice planning, travel logistics, and recruiting efforts.

An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background screening.

Assist with the administration of the baseball program as determined by the head coach.

Assist with adherence to the program’s operational and recruitment budget.

Understand and follow the rules, regulations and protocol of the University, GLVC and the NCAA.

A strong understanding of the game of baseball, including rules, regulations, and tactical aspects.

Primary duty/responsibility is teaching, mentoring, instructing and imparting knowledge, to student athletes, as a part of an athletic team and program.

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience

3 – 5 years experience playing and/or coaching baseball at the collegiate level.

Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community.

Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

Assist with the management of College-hosted NE10 and NCAA events.

Home game management duties for other sports as assigned while out of season.

Assist the Head Coach in implementing a training program that advances individual skill development and team performance.

Manage all opponent scouting reports, including preparing a written template and film edit for each opponent.

Minimum of two years' experience coaching at the college or high school level

Baseball Team Coaching & Education (50%)

Bachelor’s degree is required. Intercollegiate playing experience desired. Collegiate coaching experience preferred.

Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes

Maintain positive constructive working relationships with student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the University community

At all times promote the Baseball program in a positive way

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach

3 or more years of relevant experience

3 or more years of coaching experience in Intercollegiate Athletics at the NAIA or NCAA level.

General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics at NAIA or NCAA level

Reviews video to evaluate skills and determine needed areas of development.

Teaches classes in the elective Physical Education program.

Previous college-level experience in playing or coaching organized baseball.

Knowledge in fund-raising and recruiting.

Baseball coaching experience on the college level.

Ability to complete online coaching requirements as established by the Minnesota State High School League

Completion of NFHS Cheer & Dance Safety Certificate (this requirement is for cheer positions only).

Coach student athletes in area of assigned responsibility.

Organize and supervise a total sports program.

Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.

DMV and criminal history background check required. Must be in good standing according to the Morris County Risk Management Department.

Assign, monitor and communicate all duties and responsibilities of assistant coaches.

Thorough understanding of modern coaching methods, designing game plans, and assigning student athletes to appropriate positions.

Able to demonstrate effective recruitment techniques and assess talent of players being recruited.

Must have a flexible schedule to be present at all practices, home and away games.

High school diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Bachelor’s degree. Prior baseball experience required. Excellent oral/written communication skills required.

Assist with conducting drills for each practice session; instruct athletes in ways to strengthen their baseball playing/teamwork skills.

Attend coaching conferences to stay informed about NCAA schedules, rules, eligibility requirements, policies, etc. Assisting in special projects and/or activities.

Assist with on and off-campus student athlete recruitment/scouting efforts.

Attend and/or participate in professional baseball clinics and other athletic development seminars.

Providing counseling/support services to student athletes. * Serve on university committees and/or task forces as assigned.

Assists the Head Baseball coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport

Assists with determining game strategy

Assists the head baseball coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition

Ensure that all athletic activities conform to AHSAA guidelines
