This position assists the Head Coach in all aspects of coaching a Division II Baseball team with the goal of developing a regionally and nationally competitive program.


Responsibilities


  • Actively participate in Athletics Department meetings and support all Saint Rose athletic programs.
  • Assist the Head Coach in recruiting talented high school and transfer student athletes consistent with NCAA and conference rules. This includes attending high school and summer games, and viewing recruits' film to identify prospects.
  • Exhibit the highest standards of professional conduct regarding compliance with institutional policies and procedures and adherence to the rules and regulations of athletic governance organizations of which the College is a member.
  • Assist the Head Coach in implementing a training program that advances individual skill development and team performance.
  • Assist with community service programs and events.
  • Assist with the management of College-hosted NE10 and NCAA events.
  • Participate in the Athletics Department's special events and initiatives as designated.
  • Provide quality coaching and instruction during in-season practices and competition as well as pre-season and off-season conditioning activities.
  • Home game management duties for other sports as assigned while out of season.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all staff, student-athletes and external constituents through a positive and constructive approach to all assignments and respectful collaboration.
  • Assist with travel arrangements for away contests.
  • Help foster involvement of the program alumni with the team.
  • Manage all opponent scouting reports, including preparing a written template and film edit for each opponent.
  • Assist with monitoring academic progress of student-athletes.
  • Participate in department's fundraising activities.


Job Requirements


  • Experience with recruiting and/or monitoring academic progress of student-athletes is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience coaching at the college or high school level
  • Participation in intercollegiate baseball at the varsity level is preferred.
  • Possess or ability to obtain Annual First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
  • Current Driver's License, with no more than 2 moving violation convictions and/or accidents within the past 40 months to meet the requirements for driving College vehicles.
  • Intermediate-level computer skills using a Windows-based operating system, MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with diverse constituents
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills


Additional Information


This is a full-time, academic year, 9-month position, working from mid-August through mid-May.


A break in employment follows from mid-May through mid-August.
