Public Program Coordinator Jobs

Develop, direct and implement community public health education tools and programs in accordance with department and State mandated requirements.

Principles, methods, techniques, and materials of public health education programs and State mandated requirements.

Develop and implement community education tools and curricula in accordance with program-specific local, State, and Federal mandates.

Participate in community health education programs and conferences.

Plan, organize and direct the department in-service education program for assigned program and/or services.

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.

Other specific certifications related to the area of assignment may be required for this position.

Investigate outbreaks of infectious disease.

Interview contacts of infectious disease.

Inspect facilities possibly associated with infectious disease.

Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

Organize trainings (in person and online) to exchange information, resolve problems, and ensure compliance with program requirements.

Respond to constituent inquiries on CHAMP and coordinating and planning trainings on CHAMP for advocates and caseworkers.

Two years of full-time professional-level work experience in program administration, program development, program operations , or management; and

Making oral presentations to HHS leadership regarding annual PHIG activities, outcomes, and successes.

Preparing supporting justification for equipment, budget, and staffing to meet goals and annual objectives, and improve performance.

Students Current students enrolled in accredited educational institutions from high school to graduate level. Includes internships, pathways and other student programs.

May communicate directly with physicians and other healthcare providers or manager concerning individual cases and administrative matters as appropriate.

Conduct educational outreach activities and develop program information materials for distribution to organizations, community groups, schools, and the general public.

Coordinate RUHS - National Public Health Accreditation activities.

Collection and documentation of required documents including: Community Health Assessment, Community Health Improvement Plan, Workforce Development plan, etc.

Assist with contracts and procurement.

Establish program goals and objectives and determine priorities; provide supervision, technical assistance, and consultation to program staff.

Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards:

The County of Kern withholds 6.2% for Social Security (FICA1) and 1.45% for Medicare (FICA2) from employee's payroll warrants

Pay: $39.82 - $51.47 per hour

Coordinates with the County's Department of General Services, Fleet Management Division for maintenance and repair of the fleet

Manages budget and spending for six Internal Service Funds, with a total of approximately $40 million in assets

Develops and executes an annual acquisition budget of approximately $6 million

Maintains a rate system to facilitate budgeting and distribution of equipment operational costs among the department's vehicle users

Plans and implements the Fleet’s sustainability plan to reduce greenhouse gases and encourage use of electrified vehicles

Effectively coordinating grant management processes and decisions across ARPA programs;

Providing technical assistance to applicants and awardees to ensure maximum participation in EDA programs.

Ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds.

Developing processes and reporting to monitor awardee progress against set goals and milestones.

·Ensure a safe educational space for participants. Maintain classrooms, equipment, and program supplies.

·Manage logistical details for events.

·Maintain program petty cash and finance reports for bookkeeper.

·Manage the logistics (prep, setup and breakdown) and staffing every Saturday, June through October.
