Maintain the continuing education requirements established by the certifying board

Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board PTCB).

Must frequently perform difficult manipulative, arm–hand steadiness and hand–eye coordination skills;

Must be physically able to meet all regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:

Certification preferred but mandatory after 1st year of employment

Fill employee prescriptions and physician orders for pharmacist review

Utilize the order imaging system appropriately and accurately input patient orders

Deliver medications to nursing units and exchange carts in a timely manner

Submit filing information accurately and in a timely manner

Receive, price, and stock drug orders and store appropriately

Retrieve, review, and perform inventory management for medications and supplies in the pharmacy.

Use the pharmacy computer system to facilitate patient care

Participate in patient/provider/customer care activities that do not require the expertise of a pharmacist

Prepare and label medications appropriately for distribution.

Perform housekeeping duties in the pharmacy in compliance with hospital and accreditation policies.

Participate in the onboarding and training of new pharmacy personnel.

1-year hospital or pharmacy experience

Canada/US: Certification or Technical Diploma in Pharmacy

2 or more years of hospital or pharmacy experience

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)

Ability to manage time efficiently

A minimum of 2 years of prior pharmacy tech experience in a retail setting preferred

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office

Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written

Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacyservices.

Provide friendly and cooperative customer service.

2+ years experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Assists pharmacist in ordering and maintaining inventory levels.

Prepares and dispenses pharmaceuticals while maintaining accuracy in all stages of the filling process.

Searches patient profiles for refills and adds third party insurance information into system.

Adjudicates prescriptions as well as resolve both transmission errors and third-party billing issues.

Resolves patient questions and concerns and escalates issues to the pharmacist as needed.

Part Time · 8:45a - 6:15p · Call typically not required

Position is 40 hours per payperiod (0.5 FTE)

Successful candidates will be subject to criminal background and drug screens.

Inspects nursing stations and medication carts in accordance with consultant guidelines.

Collaborates in the development of IV policies and procedures.

Participates in center quality improvement and drug safety initiatives, as needed.

Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.

Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.

Manages pharmaceutical stock levels; restocks and replenishes supplies; conducts inventories in accordance with established guidelines.

Fills, labels, processes, and records doctor ordered prescriptions for patients.

Answers incoming telephone calls and responds to customer and long-term care staff requests.

Places orders for pharmaceuticals products utilizing an automated pharmaceutical computer ordering system and establishes patient charges; expedites emergency orders as needed.

Packages products and prepares them for delivery to nursing centers.
