Job Description
Overview


Maxor National Pharmacy Services is now accepting applications for a per diem (PRN) customer service focused Pharmacy Technician to work the day shift within the City of Hope (formerly CTCA) Retail Pharmacy in Newnan, GA


At City of Hope (formerly CTCA) our cancer experts understand the value of focusing on one specific cancer type. That’s why we created our Atlanta cancer centers. These intensive programs bring together multidisciplinary teams of doctors and other clinicians with expertise in treating specific cancer types. The expert clinicians in our cancer centers collaborate daily, delivering comprehensive, personalized treatments tailored to each patient’s individual needs and goals


Responsibilities


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This document in no way states or implies that these are


the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):


  • Operate the cash register and ring sales.
  • Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
  • Provide friendly and cooperative customer service.
  • Enter patient data accurately.
  • Pull and count medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time
  • Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacyservices.

  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
  • Assist in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking,


pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.

  • Inform the pharmacist of any alerts form the pharmacy system, such as contraindications,
  • Inform patients of any notations on prescription bag.

  • Issue supplies to other pharmacies or departments as needed.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
  • Participate in the Performance ImprovementProgram.
  • Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
  • Comply with Maxor's Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor's Compliance
  • Pre-pack and document medications accurately as needed.
  • Maintains regular attendance according to established policies.
  • Enter and maintain non-preferred drug requests in the PA system.
  • Verify NDC number to pull and count medications form shelves.
  • Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Program.


  • Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.


Qualifications


  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Current PTCB and State of GA Pharmacy Technician license
  • Flexible availability on a PRN basis


Experience:


  • Proven computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • A minimum of 2 years of prior pharmacy tech experience in a retail setting preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people, including patients and physicians
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to problem solve and multi-task
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
