High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting

Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office

Ensure management is aware of staffing needs and requirements

Perform clerk functions in the absence of a clerk

Minimum 1 year of previous scheduling experience

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements:

May need to perform clerk functions in addition to scheduling functions in the absence of a clerk.

Ensure accurate data entry and multitask effectively.

Previous experience in telephone customer service, face-to-face customer service, or healthcare.

Proficient in data entry and able to type 60 wpm.

Performs general office duties including but not limited to word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones and data entry.

The Patient Scheduler II obtains precertification, authorization and clinical documentation required by insurance companies to authorize scheduled procedures.

Minimum 1 Year Of Customer Service Experience

Answers telephone calls, responds to routine inquiries, and serves as a resource person to those seeking information on outpatient exams.

Completely and accurately enters data into multiple computer systems of confidential patient and provider information.

Demonstrates ability to prioritize and multitask in the course of scheduling duties for urgent and non-urgent requests.

What you will be doing

Schedules Gastroenterology procedures, surgeries, and pre-op testing and coordinates scheduling with Hospital and Ambulatory Surgical Centers

Maintain Referral Box, which includes reviewing referrals, checking insurance and demographics, call patients to schedule.

Serve as a liaison between patients and physicians for all non-clinical issues.

Coordinate day to day calendars and logistics for assigned physicians.

Schedule surgical procedures and clinic appointments across multiple sites of practice.

Complete insurance prior authorizations and verify patient registration.

Obtain and upload all necessary documents and lab results prior to appointments and surgery.

Coordinate treatment care plans across multiple metro Denver locations and specialties.

Serve as a liaison between patients and physicians for all non-clinical issues.

Coordinate day to day calendars and logistics for assigned physicians.

Schedule surgical procedures and clinic appointments across multiple sites of practice.

Complete insurance prior authorizations and verify patient registration.

Obtain and upload all necessary documents and lab results prior to appointments and surgery.

Coordinate treatment care plans across multiple metro Denver locations and specialties.

Coordinate processes and route all paperwork as required to meet physician and facility requirements

Handles incoming calls, follow-up and referral work queues, ticket scheduling.

Proficiently and accurately enters data into the permanent electronic health record while talking with patients.

Works as part of a care team of support staff and clinical staff to provide optimal customer service and clinical outcomes.

Supports a variety of Population Management, Chronic Disease Management and ACO initiatives through patient registry and outbound calling.

Other clerical duties as assigned. Work Experience: 1 year of clinical healthcare experience or experience as a Patient Scheduler I.
