Microbiology Technician I Jobs

Maintains open communication with Laboratory Staff and Management.

Performs standard microbiology procedures including handling, growth, and purification of cultures. Previous experience of culturing anaerobes is preferred but not required.

Follows all safety requirements for laboratory operation and use and disposal of chemical and biohazardous waste.

A bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, or a related field with 0-2 years of professional lab experience

Knowledge of MS Office products

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that is required to complete job responsibilities

Responsibility to support laboratory management in the implementation maintenance, and improvement of the management system

No previous laboratory experience is required

Perform routine cleaning, schedule equipment preventative maintenance, and organization of laboratory areas in accordance with cGMP requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, biology, or microbiology with 0-3+ years’ relevant microbiology laboratory experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech.

Excellent knowledge of Aseptic technique and common microbiological testing

Knowledge of relevant, compliance and guidance documents

Interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to the success of a team

Monitors project deliverables and timelines, notifies management when issues arise, and take corrective actions, as needed.

Bachelors degree required, or equivalent education and work experience

None required, 1 year of experience in project coordination preferred.

Develops and maintains a detailed project schedule which includes administrative tasks. Ensures adherence to deadlines.

Coordinates and leads assigned project activities ensuring that assignments are completed.

May develop reports and other deliverables as assigned.

Performs other related duties (Quality Specialist/Technician) as assigned by management.

High school diploma or GED required. Citrus and/or laboratory experience or additional education which includes laboratory experience.

Knowledge and work experience in pathogen environmental monitoring and sanitation.

Thorough understanding and experience in microbiological laboratory practices.

Hands on clinical lab experience is needed not so much on the research side***

Associate's degree in Microbiology/Molecular Biology or related field, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Safely handle highly hazardous biological/toxic materials in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Contribute to the development, validation, and maintenance of equipment and biological assays, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.

Understand and perform dilutions, including mathematical calculations involved in assay preparation.

Decontaminate equipment and materials, and maintain mammalian, viral, and bacterial cell cultures, following proper protocols.

Willingness to receive immunizations with FDA licensed vaccines and Investigational New Drugs (IND) recommended for occupational exposure to biological agents.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

1 - 2 years of research/laboratory experience

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Prior experience working in a molecular research laboratory.

Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of virology techniques.

Conduct experiments and assays under the guidance of senior laboratory personnel to support ongoing research projects.

Knowledge of cGMP and GLP regulations and compendial requirements

Good communication skills both written and verbal

Experience with in testing techniques such as Environmental Monitoring (EM), Bioburden, Endotoxin, Sterility, and Bacteriostatis/Fungistasis testing

Requirements include following gowning procedures, usually lab coats, gloves and sleeves.

Planning and coordinating complex research experiments following standard operating procedures.

Working with Principal Investigator(s) to coordinate project activities and establish appropriate reporting procedures.

Contributing to scientific analysis and interpretation of projects.

Establishing and maintaining quality control measures for assigned project operations.

Making modifications to research procedures in collaboration with the Principal Investigator(s) and contributing to the writing of SOPs and protocols.
