Conduct education and ongoing in-service programs for multi-disciplinary health care teams

Experience with Microsoft word processing and database management applications software.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Clinical Lab Scientist, Medical Technologist, or health care related science degree.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, leadership, facilitation, and time management skills.

Current knowledge of High Reliability principles, patient safety and performance improvement principles.

Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as, in a collaborative, team environment.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

This is a PRN position with flexible scheduling.

Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science, Nursing, Public Health, or other health-related field.

4 years Infection Control and Prevention or Epidemiology

Master's Degree in Laboratory Science, Nursing, Public Health, or other health-related field.

Certification in Infection Control (CBIC) required within 3 years of date of hire.

Minimum of two years’ experience strongly preferred in infection prevention practice.

Utilizes appropriate communication and data systems, participating in system upgrades and redesigns as appropriate to support all infection prevention activities.

Develops positive and effective relationships throughout the organization to promote teamwork, compliance, and support of Infection Prevention goals and initiatives.

Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by actively assisting and supporting departmental activities to ensure that expenses are reduced and/or meet the annual budget.

Provides consultative service to the organization with 24-hours coverage, 7 days a week for IP concerns.

Management, supervisory and/or experience as a health care educator preferred.

Experience in infection prevention and knowledge of principles of epidemiology and infectious diseases preferred.

Implements approved action plans, working with departmental managers; monitors results until areas of concern are resolved.

Performs surveillance related to infections and communicable diseases for Christiana Care.

1 year of experience in Infection Control with progressive responsibilities preferred.

Working knowledge of OSHA, TJC, CDC, AIA and Texas DSHS compliance related to IC preferred.

Excellent computer, communication, and Information Systems skills.

Adept in principles of adult education required.

Certification Infection Control within 3 years of hire

Leads district wide program of HAI/AR and infection control by assigned districts.

Applies reports from the HAI/AR analytics team to develop prioritized responses in their region.

Responds to reported infection control breaches, outbreaks, and multi-drug resistant screening results for Georgia healthcare facilities.

Develops and communicates response targets and goals to regional district staff and other stakeholders.

Provide timely infection prevention and control consultation.

Conduct follow-up site assessments to ensure that the healthcare facility has implemented mitigation recommendations based on report findings.

Provides education to increase employee awareness of existence of healthcare-associated infections

Knowledge of theories and practices of microbiology, epidemiology, nursing, statistics, or public health

Communication skills, oral and written
