The Infection Preventionist 2 (IP2) is considered an Infection Prevention Practitioner, step 2 on a 3 step ladder. An IP2 is expected to work autonomously and should not require mentorship in their role. All Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the region and system level. In collaboration with the IP program director, IP medical director, and IP peers, all IPs will follow all current local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations.

Required qualifications:

• 6 years Healthcare or public health experience
• Required within 1 year of hire: National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology
• 4 years Infection Control and Prevention or Epidemiology
• Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science, Nursing, Public Health, or other health-related field.

Preferred qualification:

• Master's Degree in Laboratory Science, Nursing, Public Health, or other health-related field.
