Description

The Infection Control Practitioner is responsible on a daily basis to provide surveillance; consultation and ongoing education related to Infection Control and Epidemiology practices to hospital and ambulatory care departments.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Clinical Lab Scientist, Medical Technologist, or health care related science degree.
  • Certified in Infection Control within 2 years of hire.
  • 2 years experience in Nursing, Epidemiology or Public Health, Microbiology or other related field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
  • Coursework/Training: Completion of advanced APIC or equivalent class related to Infection Control/ Employee Health.
  • 2 years experience in Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Experience with Microsoft word processing and database management applications software.
  • Experience with statistical analysis techniques.
  • Coursework/Training: Complete formal training within the 1st year of hire into the position.
