Infection Preventionist Lvn Jobs in Virginia

Certification required after two years experience.

Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in acute care facility.

Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.

The Infection Prevention Professional (IPP) will support the efficient function of the infection prevention program.

Appropriately apprises the Director, Infection Prevention of developments affecting the functions and elements of the Infection Prevention Program.

Shares data and information with the Infection Prevention team.

Current RN, MT, or RT License Required; must maintain related license or certification as active. Requirement

Current Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) preferred.

On call responsibilities as directed: Yes

Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed: Yes

Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.

Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.

Provides effective education and training regarding infection prevention and control (i.e. New Team Member Orientation, unit based in-services, community/patient/family education).

Minimum Education - Bachelors Degree MT(ASCP) Registry or BA/BS, BSN

Experience - Two-Three years of nursing, MT or Public Health Experience within a hospital

Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and/or accreditation standards on infection prevention and control.

Educational programs for patients staff and faculty are developed and delivered.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

3 years recent infection control experience in an acute care facility, preferably in an academic medical center.

Clinical experience in critical care, emergency or perioperative fields

Currently certified in Infection Control (CIC certification) or equivalent

COVID Vaccination Requirement and Guidelines

Knowledge of competency/education software, such as Health.edu and Mosby’s Elsevier is preferred but not required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work

Ensures compliance with state and federal requirements, accreditation bodies (DNV), and policy.

Provides consultation and education to staff, physicians, and community leaders in respect to Infection Prevention & Control.

Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.

Minimum of three (2) years’ experiences in healthcare required.
