Generation Technician Trainee For Material Handling Jobs

Experience with Materials Requirement Planning "MRP" Software such as SAP preferred.

Manages material flow and inventory control.

Supports material flow for new product requirements.

College degree or "3" years equivalent experience preferred.

Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, Power point, and Outlook programs.

Experience working with PLM systems and their interface with MRP preferred.

Related experience could be a substitution for school requirements

Review the work schedule daily with the Service Manager to update work-in-progress (WIP) priorities, segments, parts deliveries, and completion deadlines

Works with Service Manager to ensure that repairs are performed within the labor hours quoted or estimated to customer

Assist Parts Manager with ordering parts, maintaining inventory control, and restocking as required

Assure that service personnel adhere to safety, housekeeping, and other company policies and procedures with the assistance of the Service Manager

Assist the Service Manager with the administration of the Service Department

3) Work with all Material Managers, learn all their gauges & responsibilities.

Manage sales backlogs daily in a timely manner to meet sales expectations and customer demands.

Manage aged inventory with the identification of utilizing aged material first.

Working hand in hand with all Material Managers to learn their gauges.

Spending time in shop learning about all the machines & their capabilities.

Minimum of 3 years sales and/or steel material experience required within the steel service center

Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills

Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources appropriately in order to cover material handling responsibilities

Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel

Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks

Handle basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and corresponding document

One or more years’ experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)

Technical skills in Excel, SAP, data management

Experience as a Warehouse Manager, Senior Managerial skills

Education: Academic degree or the equivalent level of knowledge relevant fields

Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices

Manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies, vision, and audit standards.

Manage all warehouse & material handling processes and personnel in the most efficient way possible.

Doing picking and packing of shipments.

Retaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Producing mailing labels, packing lists, and bill of ladings.

Loading and unloading trucks if needed.

Performing Material Handling functions when necessary.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Must successfully pass the MASS and POSS test to meet the Generation Technician position requirements.

Must possess good communication skills.

Experience operating a Distributed Control System (DCS).

Experience operating Heavy Equipment such as Bull Dozers, Front end loaders and Gantry or Mobile Cranes.

Travel requirements are 0-5% once established in role

The incumbent will be responsible for all stationary and mobile heavy equipment once qualified.
