Job Description
Description
Shipping and Receiving workers are responsible for keeping track of all products sent and received by a company. They package merchandise in shipping containers, skids, and boxes. They generate mailing labels and shipping papers and guarantee that all orders have been filled correctly.
Job Responsibilities
Shipping and Receiving staff regularly execute many of the following duties:
  • Retaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Combining shipping orders.
  • Loading and unloading trucks if needed.
  • Making shipping documents.
  • Performing Material Handling functions when necessary.
  • Producing mailing labels, packing lists, and bill of ladings.
  • Doing picking and packing of shipments.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Capable of working and succeeding in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with computers and shipping process.
  • Organizational skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Good communication abilities.
Physical Requirements
  • Average workday- Sitting not at all to occasionally (0-1 hour)
  • Walking continuously (+5.5 hours)
  • Standing continuously (+5.5 hours)
  • Driving forklift (+1 hour)
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry a maximum of 50 lbs.
You Should Be Skilled In
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Forklift Licensed
  • Packaging Experience
  • Customer Service
  • Meets Physical Requirements
  • High School / GED
