What you’ll be able to do:
Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility and for the department including but not limited to:
  • Support (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution
  • Ensuring proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the production line feed location and to the delivery of finished product to the customers
  • Handle basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and corresponding document
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
  • Build hourly Team Leader and Team Member capability
  • Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources appropriately in order to cover material handling responsibilities
  • Assure all safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, environment, production throughput, budgets, practices, objectives, etc. and improvements are met.
  • Support Ford Production System and synchronous material flow lean manufacturing practices
  • Coach team through the use of following standardized work
  • Provide Communication and Recognition
  • Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel

The minimum requirements we seek:
  • One or more years’ experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
  • Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma or GED

Our preferred requirements:
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Bachelor’s in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Mgmt. preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Body shop /stamping / subassembly, or manufacturing assembly and machining experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrate aptitude for leadership combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
