Be able to perform opening, mid and closing duties as outlined by management.

Gain and expand a thorough working knowledge of plant and hardscape materials

Ability to manage crew personnel and delegate tasks

Have a valid DL and be able to operate large trucks, equipment, and trailers have good communication skills

Responsible for supervision of Garden Center crew performance and daily job instruction

Maximizes productivity and captures customer opportunities through introduction of relevant product offerings/looks.

Additional responsibilities as assigned by Store, District, or Regional Leaders.

Sales experience preferred with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance expectations and goals.

Knowledge of visual standards and techniques, and ability to implement and maintain within Brand’s guidelines.

Communicates effectively with Customers, Managers, Store Associates and Peers.

Ensures that the Customer remains the top priority and understands the importance exceptional service plays in growing store sales.

Experience working in a garden or farm preferred

Experience working outdoors and in various weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, precipitation, etc.)

Excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills

Assist with general maintenance of the garden, outlying landscaped spaces, tools and supplies

Perform some office functions as necessary

Assist with maintenance of garden and landscaped spaces (includes weeding, planting, harvesting, use of power tools)

Knowledge of sustainable soil management and methods

Knowledge of turf grass management

Experience with operating landscape equipment; light duty tractor, weed eater, blower, edger, tiller

Experience with programming, operating, and maintenance of automatic irrigation systems.

Knowledge of Pacific N.W. weeds, beneficial insects, pests, and diseases.

Knowledge of greenhouse and nursery production and propagation

Providing proper training and education to all Garden Center employees about handling and maintenance of plants and materials

Knowledge of plant material including annuals, perennials, shrubs, house plants, trees, etc

Knowledge in natural pesticides and herbicides

Purchasing products and materials based on seasonal availability (spring, summer, fall, winter/Christmas)

Negotiating pricing to pass on the best deals possible to our customers

Managing inventory of products and creating sales when appropriate

At least 2 years of experience with personnel management or administrative work.

At least 2 years of experience with project management.

Oversees and manages the daily operations (grounds management, collection management, research, visitor center, administrative) of the Garden.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in horticulture and/or botany.

Performs horticultural tasks which include planting, pruning, fertilization, fencing, weed trimming and control, mowing, irrigation, and administering pesticide and herbicide treatments.

Plans and oversees the development and maintenance of Garden infrastructure including trails, landscaping, irrigation, buildings, and machinery.

Experience working in customer service in a fast-paced environment is preferred.

Experience working as a dispatcher and/or in a security operations environment is a plus.

Must be a positive individual who will always Think Guest and work hard to ensure unforgettable experiences.

Monitor radio communication and log all incidents as they are called into Security Operations.

Good time management skills and an ability to multi-task in order to meet deadlines.

High school diploma and/or equivalent experience.

Thorough knowledge in administrative procedures and processes including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to actively listen.

Knowledge about non potable water systems.

Experience working in sustainable design.

Some experience leading tours or public speaking is preferred

Write newsletter updates for families that inspire sustainable practices and highlights environmental education happenings at AGC.

Chaperone sustainability related field trips.

Plan and facilitate garden and sustainability activities for summer camp/summer school.

1 or more years of detailing experience

May require completion of work outdoors and under varying climate conditions.

Will work with and move numerous vehicles during the course of the working day.

Use of safe and OSHA approved waxes and cleaners such as, window cleaner, tar remover, tire shine, etc.

Frequent and continual flexing of spine, hands, wrists and fingers.

Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying of up to 50 lbs.
