Garden Center Manager Jobs

Responsibilities:

• Promote Safety
• Customer communications are courteous and as needed
• Follow and enforce company policy
• Perform Reviews, Raises, Promotions, Discipline & Terminations as needed for employees under his/her direction
• Maintains accurate records of GC crew time, material loading, product orders, delivery times, etc., and reports information to the landscape manager on a timely basis
• To be available for work Monday through Saturday, as scheduled, and be flexible with hours worked as required by seasonal schedule and weather conditions
• Responsible for the loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment
• Ability to repeatedly lift at least 100 lbs using proper lifting techniques
• Coordinates the timely arrival of materials with the Production Manager to A+ or job sites to facilitate quick and efficient installs
• Works closely with Landscape Production Manager on scheduling, materials arrival, and locates to maintain an efficient install schedule
• Oversees retail sales, customer communication, and related paperwork for the garden center operation
• Interview, Hire, & Train employees under his/her direction
• Responsible for supervision of Garden Center crew performance and daily job instruction

• Gain and expand a thorough working knowledge of plant and hardscape materials
• Responsible for the care and organization of plant stock, hard goods, holding areas, and nursery areas at A+
• Provide leadership
• Achieve sales goals set for the Garden Center
• Take responsibility for your and your crew's actions

Qualifications:

• Ability to operate and maintain landscape equipment
• Ability to coordinate, plan for, and achieve set sales goals
• Ability to manage crew personnel and delegate tasks
• Have a valid DL and be able to operate large trucks, equipment, and trailers have good communication skills
• Ability to Identify plants and hardgoods
• Ability to read blueprints and plans
• Ability to order and maintain healthy nursery stock and hard goods
• Be able to troubleshoot issues as they arise and evaluate priorities of job routines
