Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Fund Development, Human Services, or equivalent experience.

Experience using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management software packages required.

Experience with Development Moves Management process a plus.

Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of the Society’s programs and communicate the Society’s needs to members of the development boards.

Five years’ comparable experience working in a development, non-profit, or administrative position.

Must possess solid planning proficiency and organizational skills.

Effective problem-solving skills. Sound, logical decision-making skills required.

Have strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience explaining technical concepts to both technical and no-code audiences.

Have knowledge of dbt or experience with transforming raw data into derived data products

The role is remote with occasional travel to Nairobi, Kenya expected throughout the year.

At least 5 years’ experience as a professional fundraiser

BS or BA in related field

Knowledge or experience in the field of AIS or maritime operations is a plus, but not required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Oversee and collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Manager

Lead with an understanding of the dynamics of a social enterprise/public benefit non-profit model.

5-plus years of professional experience and demonstrated success

Strong quantitative skills, including knowledge and understanding of finance and accounting

Help determine launch plan of new strategies or management of ongoing fundraises

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Support Senior Fundraisers in their outreach, business development and marketing initiatives

Draft and develop marketing materials for new funds and products

Assist in identifying lists of prospects and doing competitor market research

Previous experience in event planning or other related fields

Coordinate all event activities and personnel

Distribute all meeting information and supplies to attending personnel

Calculate and propose budgets for planned events or meetings

Research and identify successful event opportunities

Maintain stock of event supplies
