Department: Executive Leadership
Reports to: Quinn Vittum, Executive Director
Supervises: Communications and Marketing Manager, contracted grant writer, occasional Interns
Collaborates with: Director of Administration, Board of Directors, Program Managers, and others.
Job Purpose: Director of Fundraising leads fundraising efforts and communication and marketing strategies in order to build more community awareness, strengthen financial capacity, and increase program revenue and impact.
Schedule and location: Full-time/salaried position, 40 hours per week, optional hybrid, office location is Re-use Hawaiʻi, 200 Keawe street in Honolulu.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee the organization’s special fundraising event(s)
- Complete all related tasks and duties as needed to achieve the goals of Re-use Hawaiʻi
- Manage CRM system (NEON)
- Secure $850K of financial support from individuals, foundations, government, and corporations per year
- Participate in team meetings and training
- Attend events and occasionally present on Re-use Hawaiʻi programs
- Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation, government, and corporate fundraising
- Collaborate with a contracted grant writer
- Develop and execute Re-use Hawaiʻi’s annual fundraising plan
- Create and execute a strategy for a sustained base of annual individual donors
- Participate in the development of new programs
- Oversee and collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Manager
- Collaborate with the ED to create connections to local businesses and community groups in order to expand impact
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Use the values and principles of the organization as guidance in all problem-solving and decision-making.
- Energy and passion for environmental sustainability and the circular economy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- 5-plus years of professional experience and demonstrated success
- Flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and fundraising, and administration initiatives.
- Create and have fun in the workplace.
- Since this position requires extensive training and requires a lot of time to establish proficiency and community connections, a minimum two-year commitment is requested.
- Genuinely demonstrate passion and excitement to improve things for everyone in the organization.
- Ability to construct, articulate, and implement a strategic development plan through a fundraising and communication lens.
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with the Board of Directors and staff.
- Creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized.
- Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of positive relationships and team building.
- Demonstrate strong skills in organization and time management, positive communication, motivational leadership, problem-solving, timely and informed decisions, record keeping, and strong people skills.
- A professional and resourceful style; the ability to take initiative, and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.
- Lead with an understanding of the dynamics of a social enterprise/public benefit non-profit model.
- Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels within and outside the organization.

Compensation, benefits, and resources:

- Annual Salary of $52,500 (paychecks weekly)
