Minimum one year supervisory or managerial experience required

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and vendors.

Support the affiliate network with capacity requirements.

Manage and forecast capacity needs for all modes of transportation.

Manage the spot quote department.

Communicate pending work and/or unresolved problems to the following shift personnel and the operations manager.

Communicates with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to collaboratively resolve any customer or delivery opportunities or issues.

Executes management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

2 or 4-year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar major preferred.

Manages labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.

1-3 years related experience and/or training.

Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate with contracted services preferred

Two (2) years of experience scheduling and routing experience.

One (1) year experience as a professional driver.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:

(LC: DLF-TN or DLF-ARK or DLF-MISS) valid driver's license with "F" or equivalent preferred

May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements

Valid drivers license required; Commercial Vehicle Driving experience a plus

Experience with temporary traffic control plans (TCP) and work zone management

Experience using case management experience using AMANDA or similar software.

Experience or education may be substituted up to a maximum of four (4) years.

One To Three Years Onsite Driver Management Experience Preferred

Proven Leadership and in-depth knowledge of dedicated transportation operations, FMCSA and DOT regulations.

Strong communication (written and verbal), listening, interpersonal problem solving and innovative thinking skills.

High attention to detail, strong planning, and organization skills

Responsibility for driver safety, FMCSA, and DOT compliance.

Acts as the back-up person for the Transportation Manager as well as for completing log data entry.

Assists in determining rental requirements and equipment needs

Coordinates daily scheduling of drivers and staff members ensuring the effectiveness of the workforce.

Monitors driver departure times and reports the information accordingly.

Shares on-call duty with members of the Transportation Department.

Coordinates customer deliveries with Drivers and notifies customers of delays or accidents.

Fleet maintenance management experience in a metric driven environment

Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets – utilize vehicle management systems

Mechanical experience or knowledge including hydraulics, electrical and diagnostics

Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements

5 years of relevant work experience preferred

Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality

Responsible for the daily training, performance appraisal and other management work of team staff.

According to the needs of business development, complete other tasks designated by the management.

Have outstanding communication skills, teamwork awareness and strong execution, result-oriented and mission must be achieved.

Leads and coordinates effective management and continuous improvement of student transportation operations.

Successful prior experience supervising a school district transportation department.

Oversees the development of school bus safety and education programs for schools.

Current and valid Commercial Driver’s License.

Directs and supervises all aspects of the Transportation Department.

Conducts recruitment, training, and assignment of departmental personnel.

Strong communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues with respect.

Associate degree in Business, Logistics, or equivalent experience (Preferred)

Working knowledge FMCSA Regulations, Hours of Service, and their applications

Work Standards – sets standards for excellence, ensures high quality, takes responsibility, and encourages others to take responsibility

Fleet management and asset management experience is a plus.

SAP or similar ERP experience/knowledge preferred.

Prior experience leading a large team of non-union associates in a fast paced warehouse/distribution environment.

Descartes or similar transportation software experience.
