Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Skills relating to facilitating public outreach will include the preparation of public notices, fact sheets, and presentations for the general public.

Knowledge of chemical properties, chemical reactions and treatment processes, and the transformations substances may undergo in the environment.

Requires 5 years’ experience (Master’s degree can substitute for 2 years of experience; Doctorate can substitute for 4 years of experience).

Professional Engineering (PE) certification through the AZ Board of Technical Registration or an equivalent organization in a reciprocal jurisdiction.

This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements).

Focus on team project delivery, working with a project team and taking direction primarily from Project Managers

Bachelors degree and at least 4 years’ relevant experience

Experience handling multiple project assignments, and maintaining flexibility, while meeting strict deadlines

40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate (with an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course certification)

Additional trainings and certifications related to the environmental field are desired and should be noted (e.g., Certified Asbestos Inspector)

Knowledge of remediation technologies and remediation systems, with proficiency in field documentation, technical report writing, and analysis

0 to 3 years of work-related experience;

Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;

Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation access to remote job site locations.

Monitor construction projects by taking various tests to evaluate whether the contractor or subcontractor has complied with job specifications;

Expand the environmental skills and knowledge of Environmental/Safety Coordinators

Ability to work independently, analyze problems, and make decisions with minimal management intervention

Create and provide training and technical support to managers and supervisors

Manage/execute environmental and energy projects as directed, which may include:

3 or more years’ experience with industrial processes

Knowledge of EPA and State environmental regulations

Strong problem-solving capabilities, communication skills, and writing abilities.

2+ years of experience in environmental compliance and permitting (air, water, solid waste) in industrial settings is preferred, but not required.

Experience with Risk Management Plans and Process Safety Management are a plus

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Experience in Air Permitting, Storm Water Permitting, and/or Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements.

Demonstrated ability to communicate proficiently to all levels of management with executive presence.

Experience in environmental engineering or related science, preferably at a manufacturing operation.

Demonstrated experience in developing and leading effective teams.

Demonstrated experience in determining compliance & data analysis.

Perform a variety of duties involving the execution, management, coordination, monitoring and oversight of environmental projects.

Manages client expectations and maintains routine communication with clients and regulatory agencies

Travel to project sites 20-25% is required

Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.

Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical hazards.

Military Installation Access and Security Clearance:

At least 4 years of applicable environmental management experience, preferably in a corporate retail setting.

Manage and coordinate with environmental service providers (waste management, waste minimization, and recycling) to ensure necessary services are being performed

Bachelor's degree in an environmental or engineering related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Assist with EPA RMP and OSHA PSM compliance and reporting requirements

Assist with Department of Homeland Security Reporting requirements related to Distribution Centers.

Demonstrating strong analytical and problem solving skills with close attention to detail in order to effectively progress and complete assignments

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities to ensure compliance with project requirements

Serve as a task manager; supporting project technical and financial goals, and collaborating with stakeholders to successfully meet project objectives

Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, or related Environmental Science field with 5 years of environmental assessment/remediation field experience

Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering, or related Environmental Science field and 3 years of environmental assessment/remediation field experience

Experience with assessment and remedial programs under CERCLA and RCRA regulations

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc)

Basic knowledge of environmental regulations

Focal point for internal engagement, awareness, and communication on EHS topics.

Other duties as assigned to support EHS&S activities.
