As Engineers on the EHS team, we are responsible for ensuring compliance while protecting company assets (people, property, time) in a manner that is consistent with our business strategy. We represent our interests to all partners on matters pertaining to compliance, asset protection, and ensuring the resources to accomplish the organization’s objectives. Grow with us! Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Represent Micron in a professional and effective manner to both internal and external parties
  • Respond to environmental issues and carry/answer the on-call phone when assigned
  • Drive Stormwater General and Construction Permits, Spill control Countermeasures and Control Plan, and conduct inspections
  • Build and implement vital programs that fulfill state, federal, and local requirements
  • Lead compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and conformance with ISO14001.
  • Prepare compliance reports, quantify environmental impacts, and participate in regulatory inspections
  • Participate in design reviews and execute environmental compliance strategy
  • Lead and collaborate with operational teams to achieve compliance and sustainability goals
  • Develop and maintain accurate environmental permits, modifications, and operating procedures. Evaluate proposed facility changes, chemical and physical manufacturing processes and address regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Lead expansion projects in NY and ID related to NEPA, 404 permitting, Title V/PSD air permitting, wastewater discharge permits, and SWPP/SPCC
  • Lead hazardous waste program, schedule shipments, and conduct inspections

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of air quality laws (NSPS, NSR, NESHAP, MACT) regulations, and standards; Title V/PSD experience a plus
  • Experience with NY State regulations desired
  • Experience with Risk Management Plans and Process Safety Management are a plus
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years implementing environmental compliance programs
  • Experience/solid understanding of CAA, RCRA, CERCLA, CWA (NPDES, MSGP, CGP, SPCC), and ISO14001
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Environmental-related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong data analysis, problem solving, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
