Job Description

This position is an onsite role. The qualified candidate will be required to report to the facility full-time.

At GM environmental, we are geared towards developing creative solutions to complex environmental challenges. As an environmental engineer at the Tonawanda GPS facility, you will have the opportunity to champion the air, waste and water compliance programs and be responsible for developing programs to reduce environmental risk. You will work cross functionally with diverse groups to create and implement best-in-class, sustainable solutions to improve environmental compliance and sustainability across the site.

As an Environmental Leader, you will be working in an exciting manufacturing environment and be a part of a team fulfilling GM’s Vision of Zero, Zero, Zero. As a valued member within the Sustainable Workplaces team, your role is focused on providing technical expertise, developing strategies and looking ahead for the future success of GM. We are currently looking for hardworking individuals who have a passion for the environment and who want to help make the facility a leader in environmental compliance and sustainability.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Experience in Air Permitting, Storm Water Permitting, and/or Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements.
  • Experience in environmental engineering or related science, preferably at a manufacturing operation.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in engineering or related sciences with emphasis on environmental engineering preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and leading effective teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in determining compliance & data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate proficiently to all levels of management with executive presence.
