Job Description

Aegis is a 27-year-old environmental consulting group headquartered in Richmond, Virginia with an office in Anderson, South Carolina. We are seeking one or more individuals for junior or mid-level roles supporting our clients on regulatory compliance and reporting, environmental monitoring, sustainability, and on-site support. We are seeking individuals interested to be a part of an engaged team that delivers solutions for our clients. This role has been designated as Hybrid – Flex for your day depending on client needs and team coordination required.


Job Summary

Aegis has an exciting opportunity for a position as a Environmental Engineer / Scientist who will:

  • Develop and contribute to technical reports with strong writing skills.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates and customer both verbally and in writing.
  • Perform site visits to observe and evaluate client activities, procedures, and work closely with our customers to implement findings.
  • Support development of client permit applications, compliance reports, and contingency plans.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn. This is the most common trait of successful individuals in these roles. The role creates opportunities to develop a solid, broad base of knowledge and then to build expertise in areas of interest.
  • Develop and review technical reports for delivery to clients and regulators.
  • Deliver training for clients on environmental regulations, systems, and procedures.
  • Work with teammates to identify issues, conduct research, and deliver solutions.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Teams.
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance and permitting (air, water, solid waste) in industrial settings is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Pursuit of Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, communication skills, and writing abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree requiredin biological science, chemistry, geological science, environmental sciences or engineering.
