Distribution Center Shipping Manager Jobs in Ohio

Responsible for hiring, training, and performance management

Closely manage the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Center.

Communicate effectively with the Operations Managers in regard to all DC-related initiatives.

Regularly interact and collaborate with District Managers and Market Representatives in the region.

Manage internal fleet while following DOT regulations.

Ensure the team is adequately staffed, managed and trained

Bachelor’s Degree required; Experience in consumer packaged goods or a related industry a plus

A minimum of 1 years of Operations or Logistics experience desired

Demonstrated planning and organization skills

Schedule the receiving and delivery of raw materials/finished products in a timely manner

7-10 years of previous warehouse and inventory control leadership experience

Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Seradex).

Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills

Previous experience in medical device / pharmaceutical / electronics manufacturing and ISO 13485 environment

Knowledge of international shipping and customs regulations

Plan, prioritize and adjust warehouse work schedule and labor plan based on supply chain, operations and production inputs

Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, or equivalent experience and professional development in Engineering, Logistics or Business-related discipline. Graduate degree preferred

Demonstrates effective problem solving and collaboration skills when appropriate

Proficient in the jobs within the department and has a working knowledge of department functions

Manage projects that support supply chain initiative

Hindsight's and applies past experiences to improve future performance

Three to five years of leadership experience in a high volume, automated, customer focused distribution/productions environment.

2+ years direct management experience of 2-5 direct reports and 50+ indirect.

SAP EWM or similar warehouse management software experience.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

6+ years of experience in high volume, 300K Sq. Ft.+ distribution environment.

Strong analytical and process improvement experience.

Outbound, replenishment, pick mod, case pick, repack and freight experience is required.

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations, finance or other related degrees, preferred, or equivalent related experience.

Strong experience in a holistic distribution management role (leading both freight & warehousing)

Private fleet (freight) management experience, preferred

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communications, organization, consulting, resource management and technology utilization skills.

Exposure to compliance and safety requirements associated with the management of a warehouse operation.

High level of KPI management, including successful navigation of culture change
