Director Of Biomedical Engineering Jobs

Experience with high rate finite element analysis simulations, extensive pre- and post-processing capabilities

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Advanced experience with CAD modeling

Experience using high performance computational clusters, such as the DEAC Cluster at WFU.

Familiar with high performance computing clusters

Works well within a team environment

Research experience in an academic lab.

Performing troubleshooting of instruments, taking and recording corrective actions, maintenance of equipment in working order

May participate in training of new employees and students as needed

Attends mandatory annual training sessions in fire safety, chemical hygiene, and laboratory HIPAA compliance.

Previous management/ leadership experience or minimum of 7 years relevant experience

Participates in the responsibility for the management of FTE component of staffing budgets

Assures that employee competency and education requirements are satisfied as per hospital policy.

Working knowledge of medical equipment and high technical skills

Maintains knowledge related to the operations of overall hospital operations.

Manage and implement a training program for the Biomedical Engineering Staff.

Higher education experience is strongly preferred

A Master’s/Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution of higher education is necessary

Hands-on experience in protein expression research is necessary

Strong communication skills are necessary

Three to four years research experience is preferred

Ability to learn new skills quickly is preferred

Collects requirements from users to assist design of the specific programs for biomedical research.

Translates program and/or system requirements into technical specifications.

Assist with equipment database administration, i.e., routine editing and report preparation as directed by Database Manager.

At direction of faculty investigator, conducts experiments and calibrates equipment. Monitors/evaluates experiments. Maintains records/reports. Collects data from experiments.

Performs data analysis including statistical analyses and original coding if required. Writes interpretative reports/summaries. Conducts literature searches.

Reports writing with significant engineering content including formatting of equations—use of scientific word processing software such as LaTeX 10.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Master of Science or equivalent in related field.
