Job Summary:

The Biomedical Equipment Technician I contributes to the success of the business by providing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, supported with a positive attitude. Reports to Clinical Engineering operational manager and may interact with hospital functional managers. Peers include radiology, laboratory, nursing, facility staff and supervisors.

Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology is preferred. Require 6 months experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair or equivalent. May be entry level with internship experience. Maintenance skills in electronics, mechanical or electromechanical device repair. Ability to read color codes on wiring and electrical components. Ability to comprehend and follow both written and oral instructions. Ability to work without direct supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, clinical and medical staff, and the general public. Ability to demonstrate competency in the use and operation of all required test equipment. An elementary knowledge of e-mail, database management, spreadsheet, and word processor applications. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary. Ability to function in a sterile environment if necessary. Ability to keep neat and accurate records. Must be willing to be multi-task trained.
