3 – 5 years corporate event planning/management experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office and preferred experience in Salesforce

5+ years of experience in professional services industry, legal preferred

Experience with strategic event planning and execution

This role will report to the Senior Manager of Events.

Management of, and negotiation with, suppliers to maximize benefits to the company

5 + years of relevant event management experience in a global environment

Proven project management skills; Strong attention to detail and ability to track multiple initiatives with different stakeholders, timelines, scale, and scope

Direct project management of the company’s highest profile meetings and events

Complete financial management on behalf of the program stakeholders from budget creation to final reconciliation

Demonstrated innovation in conference management and implementation

Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and customer service skills.

Associate degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

Evaluate and select vendors and providers of services considering stakeholder requests and requirements.

Consult with stakeholders to determine objectives and requirements.

Manage accounting operations relating to registration, including daily accounting procedures and reports, final monetary summaries, and/or account transfers.

Offer potential clients a comprehensive price quote for destination packages

Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Discuss itinerary options with clients and suggest destinations, transportation methods and lodging possibilities depending on the clients' interests

Coordinate payment schedules for itinerary packages or other trip components with clients and process authorized payments

Excellent and quick decision-making skills

Offer potential clients a comprehensive price quote for destination packages

Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking

Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, marketing, or a related field (preferred).

- Proficiency in event management software, productivity tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

- Familiarity with the Detroit community and understanding of its cultural, social, and civic landscape.
