Comfortable completing tasks on a computer/mobile device and using work order management systems or similar software.

Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or malfunctions to their supervisor/manager.

Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred.

Normal duties and responsibilities can include but are not limited to the following:

ancestral origin in the administration of its educational policies, scholarship and loan

Sweeping, mopping and scrubbing floors, stairs (inside and outside buildings)

Using light and heavy (industrial type) floor machines and attachments.

Demonstrated ability to communicate and maintain an effective working relationship with management and co-workers.

High school diploma/GED, equivalent work experience, or is attending high school, or educational equivalent, e.g., home school or primary vocational programs.

Food Safety Certification (may vary based on city, county and state requirements)

Schedule Flexibility: Day/Evening/Overnight Shifts (subject to city, county, and state requirements)

0-6 months’ experience in general industry.

Some knowledge of the organization and its functions.

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Coordinates equipment set-up and tear-down for meetings and events as directed by the Facilities Department

Provides emergency custodial duties as needed and directed by the Facilities Department.

Documents case management activities within time frames established by policy.

Identifies the physical, educational, and mental/behavioral health needs of children, parents, and foster parents and ensures identified needs were effectively addressed.

Initiates timely, face-to-face responses to screened-in reports of alleged child maltreatment and conducts assessments that identify and address safety concerns.

Addresses identified safety concerns by immediately developing and implementing safety plans.

Performs general cleaning duties to include inside fixtures, floors, walls, and windows.

Assists with school lunch coverage (day shift) and cleaning of cafeteria.

Performs cleaning duties to include moving furniture, stripping floors, snow removal, and trash removal.

Monitors halls and restrooms to ensure adequate stock levels.

Keeps grounds and outside walkways clean around the immediate perimeter of the building.

Custodial Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities. Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities

Day Porters must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills and personal skills.

Must become familiar with cleaning chemical components and safety requirements.

The Weight or Force requirement in this position is: Up to 40 pounds

This is an entry level job, GED preferred but not required. Previous work experience preferred.

Fill all spray bottles with the germicide needed to clean and sterilize.

Mop all floors and/or vacuum all carpets.

Supports Facilities Manager by ensuring that the facility, grounds, equipment are maintained and in good working order

Collaborates with Facility Manager to track maintenance tickets and assist with crisis drills

Two years experience in custodial work

Prepares site for daily operations; ensuring facilities are accessible, operational and hazard-free

Cleans and stocks assigned classrooms, offices, restrooms, empties and cleans waste receptacles

May assist with maintainance and minor repairs to building and fixtures as needed or requested

Common areas – Building Entrance, Lobby, Common hallways, Elevator cabs, etc.

Spot clean glass (remove fingerprints, smudges, etc.)

Spot vacuum to remove debris; spot mop to remove spills (as needed)

Check interior cab paneling; remove fingerprints/smudges

Spot clean restrooms as needed: floors, walls, partitions, toilets, urinals, lavatories, mirrors, and dispensing equipment.

Pick up trash as necessary.

Police break areas, exterior grounds, and parking decks.

Spot clean elevators as needed: floors, walls, doors.

Set up tables and chairs as requested.

Note items needing special attention: dead plugs, lights out, etc., and contact the supervisor immediately or as soon as possible.

Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role

Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances

Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components

Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces

Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets

Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
