Complete continuing education and preparation for additional certifications

Possess ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, co-workers and clients through clear communication and proactive progress reporting

Test construction materials such as concrete and asphalt for quality control/quality assurance in material plants

Read construction documents and specifications and correctly interpret test results

Record and report test results in a clear, concise manner

Complete each testing assignment accurately and in accordance with the appropriate standards

15+ years of relevant civil/structural inspection and construction management experience on highway construction projects

Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering

Master’s degree in construction management or engineering

Knowledge of Caltrans Construction Manual and Caltrans Bridge Construction Records Manual

Perform quality validation/verification inspections to achieve compliance with contract plans and specifications on the civil work.

Perform quantity calculations and measurement for progress pay estimates and keep daily project records.

3+ years’ experience with all facets of construction including civil, mechanical and electrical installations.

Certifications for specialty inspections of steel, concrete, welding, coatings, and other aspects of infrastructure projects is a plus.

Provide daily oversight of contractor and its construction activities, including written daily reports

Prepare written communication between owner and contractor

Coordinate meetings with contractors, clients, and staff

Provide QC of contractor’s work

At least three (3) years of experience using construction management software systems.

At least 10 years of experience in construction inspection of civil infrastructure projects such as paving & wharf construction.

A baccalaureate degree in engineering or experience as a millwright or similar trade is desired.

We are seeking an experienced construction inspector to provide inspection on paving and wharf construction.

Hourly Range: $73/hour - $80/hour

Experience in Construction Management is preferred.

Experience working and/or learning remotely.

License, Certification & Other Requirements:

Experience interpreting construction drawings, as-built sketches and other source document materials related to utility infrastructure.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Experience working independently and as part of a team.

4-Year engineering or construction management degree and 0-3 years of Construction related experience OR

No degree and a minimum of 5 years of construction related experience in a field applicable to the work assignment

Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification

Perform highly complex technical assignments related to stormwater, roadway and bridge construction.

Working knowledge of construction, including materials, plans, procedures, specs, and safety requirements.

Report work progress and discuss construction related non-compliance with the Division Manager as needed.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, be able to use Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, PDF software.

Knowledge of HOA Design Guidelines & CC&Rs is a plus!

Observe and Inspect ongoing new build construction work.

Drive - must have a vehicle and valid Driver's License & Insurance.

Inspect various facets of work on the construction site.

Take field measurements and perform calculations.

Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used.

Ensure that construction conforms to the project plans, specifications, and special provisions.

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction management a+

6+ years of experience in building construction trades including residential construction (finishes and applications)

Knowledge of construction materials, methods and procedures

Experience reading and interpreting plans and specifications and generate changes to the scope of work as required

Strong written and oral communication skills

Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with building standards and project specifications

Civil Engineering or Construction degree can substitute for needed experience

The following certifications are preferred:

Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor

Prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules

Checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variation

Maintains records of quantities and cost of materials used

Minimum 5 years of Construction Management experience

In-depth knowledge of Air Force organizational structures, functions, and procedures

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Serve as coordinator on projects with responsibility for technical, analytical, or project direction of the work

Ensure all construction inspection is accomplished in accordance with governing plans, specifications and in terms with the applicable contract

Coordinate work to ensure timely and satisfactory accomplishment of contracts

Basic traffic management and control procedures

Performs other job responsibilities as assigned

Trains and mentors less experienced inspectors on work methods.

Experience: 4 years in construction, maintenance and repairs, construction inspection, engineering support, materials or process inspection; or related experience.

Maintain effective communications (both orally and written) with supervisor, coworkers and the project management team

Organize quality documents and store per the company and project document management procedures

Develop an understanding of project scope and quality requirements as they pertain to your specific area of responsibility.

Identify detailed quality requirements required by the contract specifications and applicable codes and standards.

Perform source and receiving inspection of permanent materials and plant equipment for project requirements as required

Proficiency in heavy equipment fleet best practices to perform project management

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skill

Solid understanding of financial and operational reporting

Ability to quantify and explain variances to owners and executives succinctly and clearly

Intelligent with demonstrated results from creativity

Willingness to learn what is takes to run a growing and successful services business

Understand the public health and safety requirements and be fully trained in the proper safety procedures.

Associates Degree (in applicable field), plus 2 years related experience, or

High School Graduate or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years related experience.

Certifications and training such as Field Book density, compaction, asphalt, concrete, aggregate or others.

MDOT Construction Inspection Prequalification required.

Experience with MDOT or municipal inspection preferred.

Strong communication, task management, and team working skills

Consult with local AHJ for regional requirements or nuances etc.

5+ years' experience as a licensed PE or LS in residential, commercial development and/or civil engineering design or owners' representation.

Experience with multifamily or commercial development a plus

Analyzing existing site locations and conditions -surrounding areas as well

Contract management to include all aspects (e.g. administer, review, manage, file, evaluate, analyze, and negotiate).

Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.

Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Back up purchasing clerk to include ordering of supplies/goods, equipment and material, reviewing, and processing/issuing of purchase order.

Negotiate or renegotiate and administer contracts with vendors and subcontractors.

Administer bidding process and contracts (e.g. prepare specifications, evaluate bids, recommend vendors, etc.).

Must have experience and broad knowledge of Civil Construction

Planning and scheduling of work - coordinate with project manager all labor, materials, and equipment needs.

Must be a good communicator with the rest of the crew as well as the project manager.

Experience operating the following equipment is preferred

Must be able to read, understand, prioritize and schedule all construction activities, including:

Implementing health safety, stormwater, and pollution prevention plans

5 years or more experience as a General Manager or similar executive role at a civil construction company.

Previous experience at a self-performing civil company with knowledge of civil equipment.

Knowledge of business process and shared service functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.) in a corporate structure.

The General Manager is responsible for the subsidiary business line revenue and functionality.

This position formulates overall business strategy, manages talent and establishes operations’ business practices.

The General Manager will be responsible for business development, extensive and sustainable growth in their business unit.
