Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid

Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Help clients take prescribed medication

Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)

Assist clients with personal care and hygiene

The willingness to continue learning and improving skills, as well as a commitment to confidentiality

Be willing to obtain CPR/First Aide Certification

A high school diploma or equivalent

A genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment

The ability to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, and guests

Be able to read, write, and speak English

The willingness to continue learning and improving skills, as well as a commitment to confidentiality

Experience working with older adults in a health care setting, geriatric mental health is a plus.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening (including marijuana).

Able to maintain tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, and staff

Able to turn, stoop, bend, stretch, move equipment and be able to lift up to 60lbs

Good verbal and written communication skills

Current caregiver training/certification as specified by state agency or the willingness/ability to obtain

Previous experience working in Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), Memory Care (MC), or Senior Living experience a plus!

A STNA certification and/or related education and experience is a plus!
