Overview The Child Protection Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Child Protection team. This role is responsible for ensuring that the team is providing quality services to children and families in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The Child Protection Supervisor will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families. Detailed Job DescriptionThe Child Protection Supervisor will be responsible for the following duties:
• Supervise and manage the Child Protection team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Child Protection team
• Ensure that the team is providing quality services to children and families in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Respond to and investigate reports of child abuse and neglect
• Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
• Participate in meetings and conferences related to child protection
• Prepare and submit reports to management and other stakeholders
• Provide guidance and support to team members
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Job Skills Required
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of child protection laws and regulations
• Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
• Ability to investigate and respond to reports of child abuse and neglect
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred
• At least 5 years of experience working in child protection
• Certification in child protection preferred
• Valid driver’s license
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of child protection laws and regulations
• Knowledge of child development and family dynamics
• Knowledge of community resources and services
• Knowledge of crisis intervention and conflict resolution
Job Experience
• At least 5 years of experience working in child protection
• Experience managing and supervising a team
• Experience responding to and investigating reports of child abuse and neglect
• Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures
