About The Senior Lawyer Role


Sellick Partnership are proud to be working with an exceptional legal services team in the heart of Norfolk. We are looking for a Senior Child Protection Lawyer to join the people team at nplaw to provide advice and representation to Norfolk County Council in all areas of childcare law.


nplaw is an award-winning public sector shared legal service hosted by Norfolk County Council. They have a wealth of experience gained through many years of advising their clients in local government, the public sector, charities and schools. The team provide a wide range of legal services, delivered by specialist lawyers who understand the local government context and priorities. Key Responsibilities Of The Senior Lawyer Role


The role will involve delivering comprehensive professional legal advice to Children's Services. You will manage a portfolio of your own cases which will largely consist of, but not limited to:


  • S31 Care Proceedings
  • Contested adoptions
  • Advising in relation to Hague Convention, secure accommodation orders and Deprivation of Liberty
  • You will be responsible for providing support and guidance to the wider team and helping them to develop their skills
  • Emergency Protection Orders
  • You will be required to undertake advocacy and you will need to be comfortable negotiating with clients and other professionals to secure agreed objectives


You'll have a brilliant opportunity to develop your specialism with the support of like-minded people and an experienced team around you.


We are looking for candidates with previous advocacy experience and exceptional relationship building, networking and influencing skills. In addition to this, you'll ideally have experience of managing and mentoring team members.
