Overview Cancer Registrars are healthcare professionals who specialize in the collection and analysis of data related to cancer patients. They are responsible for maintaining and updating patient records, tracking cancer cases, and providing information to healthcare providers and researchers. Cancer Registrars must have a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as a strong knowledge of cancer treatments and research. Detailed Job Description Cancer Registrars are responsible for collecting, organizing, and maintaining patient records related to cancer diagnosis and treatment. They must ensure that all patient information is accurate and up-to-date. Cancer Registrars must also track cancer cases and provide information to healthcare providers and researchers. They may also assist with research projects, such as epidemiological studies, and provide support to cancer patients and their families. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Knowledge of cancer treatments and research
• Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Ability to track cancer cases

Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in health information management, medical records, or a related field
• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
• Experience working in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office
