Biomed Equipment Tech Jobs

No experience is required however, previous hospital experience is preferred.

Must have the ability to read, write, take verbal instruction and perform basic arithmetic.

Analyzes medical device performance through the completion of preventive maintenance (PM).

Performs calibration of sophisticated medical devices using various test equipment and through the design of patient simulators

Completes repairs on minor to complex medical equipment.

Maintains UVA medical equipment inventory system.

Complies with all safety rules codes practices and policies.

Two years of Biomedical Engineering experience or internship

Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Assist department supervisor in documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to meet the requirements of regulatory bodies and QTC Management Policies.

Demonstrate a working knowledge and use of required test equipment and the electronics, including pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical knowledge and skills.

Knowledge of computers and skills used to interpret error codes, replace power supplies, defragment hard-drives

All job requirements listed below indicate the minimum level of knowledge, skills and/or ability deemed necessary to perform the job proficiently.

Experience with project management, strategic planning, and value-based selling desirable

Prior HTM Account Management/HTM Sales or Program experience required, minimum 3 years

Manage product launches; address market/healthcare trends and needs through optimum marketing messaging and positioning.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Experience working in matrixed organization.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Data entry skills required

Establishes and maintains Asset management program for blood center equipment from initial purchase to decommissioning.

Assists in Installation Qualification portion of validation projects as assigned.

Prior experience in a GMP environment.

Maintains legible, accurate and complete documentation for all maintenance work.

Responsible for the general maintenance and repair of assigned blood center equipment.

Advanced training/experience in specialized imaging, clinical, laboratory and / or networked systems is acceptable in lieu of certification.

Eligibility for advanced certifications in specialized areas is desirable.

A.S. Engineering Biomedical Equipment Tech or A.S. Engineering Electronics/Electrical

CBET (Certified Biomedical Engineering Technician) and / or equivalent (CRES/CLES) is desired.
