Description:

Biomedical Technical II - Biomed Tech 2 - Days - NYP/Queens

The Biomed Tech 2 performs preventive maintenance, calibration, equipment repair, and technology assessment, troubleshooting and safety inspections of medical equipment. Provide technical guidance to Biomedical Engineering Technician I. Troubleshoots and repairs complex medical instrumentation beyond the capabilities of a Biomedical Engineering Technician I. Be proficient in the maintenance of Physiologic Monitoring Systems and Ventilators. Performs preventive maintenance on complex equipment. Assists in developing maintenance procedures for various types of medical equipment. Documents all equipment related work in Department’s Equipment Maintenance Database, accurately and in real time. Orders part and supplies as needed for equipment maintenance. Assist in pre-purchase technical evaluation of medical technology. Provides some on-the-job training to other less experienced technician.

The is a full time position, 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday with on call on the weekends. The is position is located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Queens.

Preferred Criteria

• Bachelor's degree
• BMET Certified by the International Certification Commission (ICC)

Required Criteria

• Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology or a minimum of seven years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of complex medical equipment/systems
• Minimum of four years experience as Biomedical Equipment Technician or equivalent
