Pay Range


$25-$30/hr


Job Summary


The Biomedical Equipment Technician will perform Preventative and Corrective Maintenance on medical equipment and electronic devices. The BMET must be able to analyze and interpret schematics and block diagrams, perform Preventative Maintenance, incoming inspections, Electrical Safety Inspections and repairs in accordance with QTC Management Policies and Procedures.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Provide technical support to clients, providers and clinical staff
  • Coordinates with other departments on maintaining equipment on mobile clinics including logistics and tracking of shipments
  • Ensures proper service delivery by working with, directing, and documenting activities of subcontractors, vendors and outside service technicians
  • Assist in the implementation of Preventative Maintenance procedures
  • Performs modifications to equipment as per guidance of the manufacturers
  • Interpret service manuals, schematics and other applicable service information required to perform and troubleshoot equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
  • Provide in-services and training to clinical staff on safe operations and care procedures
  • Maintain documentation on all maintenance, incoming inspections and repairs performed
  • Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions and return to manufacturers specifications
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge and use of required test equipment and the electronics, including pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical knowledge and skills.
  • Assist department supervisor in documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to meet the requirements of regulatory bodies and QTC Management Policies.
  • Evaluate and monitor service programs for effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and timeliness of completion.
  • Performs performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification procedures on biomedical equipment

  • Project Management and equipment life cycle management
  • Motivated, self-starter with attention to detail and innovation
  • Knowledge of computers and skills used to interpret error codes, replace power supplies, defragment hard-drives
  • Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources including manufacturer documentation, internet research and diagnostic codes
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)


  • High School diploma or GED required, A.A.S. Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent military training preferred
  • X-Ray/CT and or Laboratory experience preferred
  • CBET, CLES, CRES, CHTM preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year in the Biomedical industry
  • Must be able to pass Federal background check and drug testing
