full-time HVAC Technician / Entry-Level Apprentice

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of installing soft copper and ACR copper refrigeration piping using proper soldering/brazing techniques.

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Minimum one year of residential, commercial, or industrial repair/service experience.

EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (Type I, Type, II, Type III, or Type Universal), a plus.

Ability to utilize reference skills to locate accurate information quickly with minimal resource.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds over his head

Factory Certified Training, Refrigeration Certification or other professional on the job training in the HVAC Industry.

Experience in HVAC or related industry

EPA approved Universal Technician Certification preferred

Experience with Novar, CPC, Danfoss Energy Management Controls, and Rack Refrigeration is a plus.

Install, repair, and replace various residential HVAC systems sometimes in confined or high places.

Provide world-class customer service to our customers on a daily basis

Complete paperwork in a timely and efficient manner

Uses standard procedures to install, test, service and repair basic equipment to conform with company operating specifications and customer requirements

1+ years of experience in the HVAC field

Knowledge of sheet metal, electrical, plumbing and carpentry

Uses standard procedures to perform basic on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation

Inspects equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper functioning

Maintains equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests and submits weekly reports summarizing these activities

Good verbal and written communication skills

Trade school course work in HVAC systems/installation, apprenticeship program, or applied job experience which provides the required knowledge preferred.

High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Knowledgeable of current city codes and EPA regulations.

General knowledge of practices, tools and terminology of the HVAC trade.

Maintaining positive working relationships with customers, technicians, dispatch, sales and management

1 year of HVAC trade school or 1 year of mechanical and/or electrical work experience

Must be mechanically inclined and possess good customer service skills

Strong oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation and organizational skills

Helping and performing startup, service, maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment and HVAC systems according to service procedures

Making steady progress towards Journeyman Level Service Technician

Drive personal accountability and use effective time management to achieve commitments

All primary responsibilities will be assisted or performed under the direct supervision of a more senior technician. These include:

HVAC/R Vocational or Technical Certification

Type I/Type II Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling

Health plan options, including vision and dental plans

Prepare job site(s) for installing piping, low voltage wiring, and starting up various types of equipment.

Assist mechanic with Install HVACR into various types of buildings, including residential homes, commercial businesses, and multi-story buildings.

Assist mechanic with material distribution

Take direction from mechanic and Foreman on details of project(s).

Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.

Learn construction plans and drawings.

Basic knowledge to assist Technician(s) troubleshooting, replacing and installing A/C components plus, related electrical and plumbing repairs.

High school, Tech or equivalent education required.

Be able to follow direction from supervisor to perform maintenance and general repair of equipment around the properties and or hotels.

Completing assigned tasks and accurate record keeping of work.

Respond to emergencies as directed.

Must read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
