About this role

Join Carrier using your HVAC skills to help us provide excellent customer services to our customers in the New Castle, DE area. Work with and learn from Journeyman technicians while assisting customers and handling service calls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Uses standard procedures to perform basic on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation
• Inspects equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper functioning
• Looking for apprentice that is eager to learn
• Maintains equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests and submits weekly reports summarizing these activities
• Uses standard procedures to install, test, service and repair basic equipment to conform with company operating specifications and customer requirements
• Ability to work overtime and weekends if need be
• Works under direct supervision to perform on-site field service directly to customers regarding installing, updating, operating, maintaining, repairing and removing of equipment to meet customer requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be in Local Union 420 apprentice program or willing to join
• High School Diploma or GED
• A valid driver’s license is required
• 1+ years of experience in the HVAC field

Preferred Qualifications:

• HVAC controls and safety devices; appropriate Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) / chemical usages; tools of the trade; materials and refrigerant recovery equipment and procedures used in installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systems
• Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to air-conditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigerated cooling
• Completion of HVAC Technical School
• Looking for apprentice that is eager to learn
• Basic understanding of building automation controls
• Knowledge of sheet metal, electrical, plumbing and carpentry
• Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair; hazard and safety practices common to the trade
