Bachelor’s degree: business/accounting/finance emphasis preferred

Experience with accounts payable, financial reporting and/or audits

Time management & ability to meet weekly deadlines (for invoicing, timesheet entry, etc.)

Assist with different billing / invoicing requirements across business-units

Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Accounting or Business studies and 1-2 years’ experience preferred

Prior experience using accounting software (Sage Intacct is preferred but not required)

Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

Organizational skills to track status of multiple weekly tasks

POLICY SKILLS - Familiarity with State legislative and budget process and/or a strong interest in developing experience in public policy

Manage and maintain a timely and comprehensive database of current and potential youth who can be called on for advocacy.

EDUCATION - High School diploma required. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS – Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate regular meetings with youth, including opportunities to bring together members from First Place’s NorCal and SoCal regions.

Answer questions from budget managers and other stakeholders regarding expense details as requested, including running reports in the OBI Reporting System.

Assist with managing the IT Procurement responsibilities for the department cell phones and computing equipment.

Assist with other administrative responsibilities as necessary and assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent and two years’ work experience.

Strong interpersonal skills, a customer service orientation, sound judgment, and an attention to detail.

At least two years of relevant work experience.

● Work closely with the Communications team to produce outreach and education materials.

● 2 years of organizing, campaign, legislative, or advocacy experience (ideally DC based experience).

Creates and maintains Share Point sites, project work plans, and other project management tools

Manages competing priorities and requests from multiple team members and client partners and prioritizes appropriately

Develops briefs, memos, reports, newsletters, quarterly reports, implementation plans, presentations, and other products for internal and external audiences

Develops and refines PowerPoint presentations and other presentation materials, talking points and handouts

Develops workforce supports and training materials related to prevention, kinship navigation, CQI, and/or other Family First related topics

Conducts thorough and critical reviews of relevant policy and literature and synthesizes findings using both peer-reviewed journals and grey literature

7 or more years of accounting or audit experience

Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience researching complex accounting topics

Experience preparing or reviewing US GAAP audited financial statements

Experience at a global public accounting firm and/or public company

Minimum one (1) year proven experience in Accounts Payable or similar role.
