The Sr. Merchandise Planner will partner with sales and merchandising teams to develop and manage comprehensive business strategies to drive sales, optimize inventory investment, and generate profit. Responsible for managing the Open-to-Buy, building financial plans, and performing analysis to support the sales plan. Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats, and work in a highly collaborative environment that’s more startup than big company.
About the Job
  • Create and distribute weekly and/or monthly business recaps vs. plan and forecast, with emphasis on performance drivers and issues with solutions and influence highlighted.
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure consistent in-season allocation and replenishment
  • Drive financial results that maximize revenue, gross margin, inventory turn goals and minimize excess inventory
  • Recommend promotional pricing that maximizes sales and margin and balances inventory.
  • Evaluate the Ecommerce “Waterfall” to determine your Demand, Returns, Shipments, and Net Sales at the weekly and monthly levels.
  • Collaborate with Buyers and Sales Partners to develop customer segment productivity targets (assortment architecture)
  • Perform analysis on seasons’ financial and assortment performance to develop next seasons’ inventory plans.
  • Manage reconciliation between bottom-up plans and tops down targets
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to increase line profitability—monetize new opportunities and identify risks
  • Own Monthly in-season OTB forecast of sales, receipts, turn, and inventory needs to meet target KPIs to drive ongoing in-season strategies and maximize sales and margin.
  • Develop bottom-up sales and inventory plans, informing financial and inventory decisions inclusive of product mix, AIR, AUC, turn, Receipt Flow, and Markdown vs. Reg Selling.
  • Be an agent of change and operational excellence through aiding the total planning teams to create efficiencies where opportunities exist
  • Determine markdown and end-of-life disposition strategies for non-go forward products.
  • “Shop” the store daily to evaluate how your product comes to life in collaboration with merchant and site partners and make recommendations for change
  • Maintain flexibility through opportunities of chase to execute late added marketing strategies.
  • Support Planning Leadership to recommend profitable inventory decisions and take on additional tasks as needed
  • Use historical data to identify essential insights around product, pricing, and inventory and apply insights to future seasons.
  • Collaborate Merchants to manage product life-cycle
About You
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong numbers aptitude; problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • 2-5 years’ Planning experience, wholesale, ecommerce a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high energy environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Planning, or relevant field
  • Extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities

The expected starting salary range for this role is $76,000- $119,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance and business needs.
