About the job


Execution:

  • Execute descriptive analysis on general trends and seasonality of apparel products
  • Analyze and segment products based on demand variables, volume, and other business-related factors
  • Communicate abnormalities or changepoints in ongoing product velocity


Thought Leadership:

  • Strategize proxy mapping for new and limited time product offerings
  • Provide business requirements to build out automated/triggered data pipelines for forecasting capabilities


Collaboration:

  • Manage the set business assumptions to run product-level forecasting (assumptions may included and not limited to overall periodic growth, seasonality, cannibalization, halo effects, incrementally, pricing elasticity, etc.)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to get alignment on product scope, forecast assumptions, and revenue implications

Competencies needed

Descriptive Analytics Capabilities

  • Generate KPI metrics on forecasting at the appropriate level of granularity (e.g. MAPE, MSE across products and categories)
  • Work within a distributed data environment to extract, transform and load data for data analysis
  • Root cause analysis on trend/seasonality changepoints


Forecasting Capabilities

  • Create and/or maintain forecasting model for many different products/categories
  • Knowledgeable in foundation forecasting methods, moving average, ARIMA, SARIMA, Holt-Winters, Ensemble Approach
  • Experience in proxy forecasting to deal with either incomplete data or unclean data to be able to generate a forecast


Insights Synthesis & Executive Communication

  • Highlight the abnormalities in expected demand vs. actual demand and summarize the implications for the business
  • Manage executive team expectation on demand as well as the operations and liquidity risk to the current assumptions
