Junior Demand Planner Jobs

Los Angeles Apparel is a nearly fully vertically integrated garment manufacturing facility located in the heart of South Central Los Angeles. We are seeking a Junior Demand Planner to coordinate and maintain optimum inventory levels, identify sales trends, and analyze merchandising assortment. No prior work experience is necessary.

Applicants must be interested in apparel manufacturing and possess a knowledge of sales trends and seasonality. They must be ready to learn, exceptionally organized, and understand the importance of deadlines and schedules. Must either be pursuing or have a Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and at least 2 references.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Coordinate with relevant departments and personnel for raw material planning and most effective production plans
• Analyze product assortment as well as identify trends in sales and monitor the timing and scope of seasonal changes
• Translates complex sets of data from many sources into actionable insights for the purpose of optimizing inventory levels, merchandise planning, and maximizing margins to improve financial performance
• Build sales and inventory reports and visualizations and also predictive forecasts for planning
• Monitor product category sales and inventory levels including developing appropriate tools and analysis to ensure effective management of each category
• Ad hoc reporting on a daily basis with a vast range of requirements from requests of SKU performance over specific time periods to overall category performance and suggested replenishment information\

Requirements:

• Detail-oriented, advanced analytical skills, and able to see patterns and exceptions in large data sets
• Advanced knowledge of Excel - understanding of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other key functions
• Exhibits initiative, and grit, and possesses a strong sense of teamwork
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
• Adaptable and excels at problem-solving
• Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
• Basic understanding of inventory optimization, retail, and manufacturing operations

Other qualities that are a plus:

• APICS certifications
• Knowledge of fashion trends and familiarity with the brand
• Interest in the apparel industry
• Fluent in Spanish

This is a full-time position, starting rate is $16.78/hour with medical and dental benefits, 401k, and overtime opportunities. Cover letter is not required.
