Maricopa County Community College Distirict (MCCCD) is seeking a Wellness Coordinator Senior to join its Benefits team!

The Wellness Coordinator Senior opportunity plans, implements, and presents a variety of health and wellness programs to MCCCD employees in an effort to improve employee health, well-being, engagement, and knowledge.

The opportunity coordinates, markets, and delivers MCCCD employee wellness programs to promote and strenghted health awareness, educational campaigns, behavior change programs, health assessments/screenings and more. Additionally, this position performs research on relevant employee health topics, such as health promotion and disease prevention for continuous improvement related to program designs.

Essential Functions


25% - Designs, implements, coordinates, and schedules Wellness Maricopa events and campaigns, such as the Diabetes Education and Empowerment Workshops, and #YOUMATTER campaign through:

  • Schedules and coordinates with vendors, administrative offices, and campus wellness representatives
  • Assures all programs, initiatives, and partnerships are in alignment with MCCCD established policies

25% - Researches new and potential programs and vendors:

  • Provides information regarding the activities and functions of Wellness Maricopa to a variety of audiences
  • Researches and implements evidence-based wellness programs that will help create a healthier work environment
  • Researches global health and wellness activities to assure best-practice and/or practice-based initiatives are being implemented
  • Collects, compiles, analyzes, and interprets various forms of aggregated data, generates reports
  • Maintains accurate records, data, and documentation and assures storage and delivery of information is HIPAA compliant

20% - Lead the development, communication, implementation, promotion, and operation of various wellness activities such as health screenings, flu shots, and wellness incentive programs;

  • Aid in the oversight of the MCCCD Wellness vendors to assure the scope of services are available to MCCCD employees
  • Integrate with other divisions and departments within the organization to enhance employee engagement opportunities

20% - Leads and empowers employee workgroups to implement programs and initiatives that will produce positive lifestyle changes for employees in their departments:

  • Proactively contributes to the wellness committee meetings while acquiring program buy-in and support through all levels of the organization
  • Arranges and leads Wellness Maricopa meetings
  • Represents Wellness Maricopa on various advisory committees
  • Maintains up-to-date Wellness Maricopa web pages and creates employee-based messages weekly on wellness promotion and disease prevention
  • Works with HR Fiscal analyst to ensure appropriate charges and credits are timely processed for wellness program activities and related budgets

10% - Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in health and wellness management, health education, health promotion, exercise science, physical education, medical wellness, nutrition exercise, physiology or public health and two (2) years of health and wellness management, health promotion or health and wellness program administration, preferably in an employee wellness program.

OR

Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in and four (4) years of health and wellness management, health promotion or health and wellness program administration, preferably in an employee wellness program.

OR

High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of health and wellness management, health promotion or health and wellness program administration, preferably in an employee wellness program.

Desired Qualifications


A. Certification in a nationally recognized coaching program (i.e. nutrition, corporate wellness, weight loss, personal trainer and/or fitness)

B. Experience planning, developing, presenting, implementing, evaluating and facilitating training of wellness or health related programs and curriculum for large organizations

C. Five (5) or more years of relevant job experience in direct education and/or coaching individuals in disease prevention, health promotion and behavior change

D. Experience tracking, analyzing and interpreting health risk data

E. Demonstrated experience with balancing multiple projects, quick deadlines, and working with a variety of client cultures and personalities

Special Working Conditions


Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver’s license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://business.maricopa.edu/risk-management/motor-vehicle-usage/motor-vehicle-driving-requirements

May be required to travel to multiple sites or locations.

May be required to lift or carry up to 25lbs.
