Looking for 2+ years of experience in celebrity news and writing, digital format. Interest in entertainment, celebrity, and general news is required. This position is a full-time role, remote position with a schedule that includes weekends and evenings. The prospective candidate must be open to working either a Wednesday – Sunday or Saturday-Wednesday schedule, 10AM-6PM EST each day, with the availability to work later as needed.

This unique position allows the right candidate the opportunity to not only work alongside the HollywoodLife team, but also independently on the weekends to cover special events like Saturday Night Live, award shows, and live sporting events, such as the Super Bowl.

Responsibilities:

- Self-publish 6-8 SEO-optimized news stories and long-tail evergreen feature assignments daily in the areas of celebrity, entertainment, pop culture, politics, and women’s issues

- Ability to track and spot real-time trends and breaking news that aligns with the HollywoodLife brand for possible coverage

- Assist with social media scheduling and content creation

- Commit to the evening schedule in a long-term role, as well as show willingness to work additional evenings and holidays for coverage, as needed

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience writing for a competitive, high-volume, news-driven website

- Exceptional writing and editing skills with minimal to no oversight required for publishing

- Comfortable working in fast-paced breaking news environment, with the ability to pivot responsibilities as needed for breaking news and deadlines

- Strong news judgement in the areas of celebrity and entertainment

- Knowledge of SEO best practices, with the ability to craft enticing, SEO-optimized headlines

- Ability to work independently and make editorial decisions, when needed

- Reporting background, a plus
