Waste Management Support Worker (Multiple Vacancies)

Facilities - Grounds

Empties small trash receptacles on campus and collects plastic bottles and cans. Transports waste and recyclable materials to the Solid Waste / Recycling department using a utility vehicle.

Maintains a safe, clean, sustainable and attractively environment for the students, faculty, and staff of our institution. Pressure washes buildings, steps, sidewalks, and other outdoor areas.

Removes refuse from residence halls and academic buildings. Separates refuse for proper processing and/or disposal. Operates medium weight vehicles such as open bed, flatbed, and other chassis cab type trucks complying with truck driving rules as well as university policies and procedures. Assigned to special projects as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Completion of the ninth grade.

Experience or the ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in the area of work.
Experience or knowledge of and the ability to perform manual labor, operate and mechanically service designated machinery, tools, and equipment.
Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Ability to meet the physical demands of this position including moving/lifting up to 20-50 lbs.
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain upon hire.
