Preschool Academy has an immediate opening for a VPK Lead/Assistant Teacher to join our team.
Must be energetic, a team player, and maintain a positive attitude. Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency. Previous experience is preferred.

Duties

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Follow the center's policies, procedures, and regulations as well as those from DCF.
  • Complete necessary classroom reports.
  • Attend ongoing training to keep education and regulations up to date.
  • Supervise children at all times maintaining a secure, safe environment for children to play and learn in.
  • Implement and create lesson plans based on a monthly theme.

Requirements

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Have a love for children and a strong desire to make a difference
  • Early childhood classroom teaching experience (Desirable).
  • Must be a team player, able to adapt to a continuously changing, fast-paced environment, and make the children need the primary focus.
  • Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds

Required Education/Certifications:
  • Staff Credential required for the Lead Teacher position
  • High School Diploma
  • 45 DCF Hours required
  • DOE for VPK Instructors (Completed)
Standards for Four-Year-Olds
Emergent Literacy for VPK Instructors
Language and Vocabulary in the VPK Classroom
How to Administer the Florida VPK Assessment
  • CPR and First Aid (can be obtained during job training)
