Job Description
TRC’s client is a leader in commercial furniture sales and installation looking for a VP of Operations to join their team in the Raleigh, NC area on a full-time, direct hire basis.


The VP of Operations is responsible for the management and administration of various departments and operations teams, including supervision, hiring & training, performance management, labor quoting, scheduling, vendor management, and quality assurance management.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee multiple teams within the organization (project management, installation, quality assurance, scheduling & administrative, warehouse operations, flooring operations, and move operations).
  • Manage contract labor groups, key vendors, and all operations equipment, including vehicle fleet and bid process for contract labor; review labor quotes and projects post-completion, implementing corrective action as needed.
  • Conduct regular job site visits to evaluate field performance, document labor opportunities, provide applicable coaching, and report findings to executive leadership.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for operational process improvement; implement and document policies, processes, and procedures related to labor management and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct consistent team meetings to ensure clear communication and collaboration with a focus on training.
  • Manage all facility inspections, repairs, and maintenance (including HVAC, fire/sprinkler systems, grounds maintenance, office cleaning, etc.).
  • Work with executive and senior leadership teams to develop the group’s strategic vision and review financial performance of each business unit; write, present, implement, and manage annual business plans.
  • Develop cost estimates and quotes as needed by customers or team members for installation projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and accurate monthly billing.
  • Hire, lead, develop, and maintain and strong operations leadership team through consistent check-ins, coachings, and accountability; document and manage performance for all direct reports.


Requirements:


  • 8+ years of experience in personnel management, including hiring, supervision, and performance evaluation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on KPI management
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 8+ years of experience in financial management, planning, and oversight, including management of P&L
  • Open to travel to client sites across the region
  • 10+ years of experience in operational management; preference shown to experience in an office furniture dealership, or other commercial interiors, manufacturing, and/or distribution
