What you’ll be working on:
- The ideal candidate for this position will be a safety minded leader of people that is analytical, adaptable, dependable, decisive, empathetic, organized, inventive, hardworking, trustworthy and resourceful.
- Work with each group and business unit manager on staffing decisions. Participate in interview process on all key hires to build a strong well-rounded team moving forward.
- Provide leadership mentoring, coaching, guidance and support for all operations department personnel.
- This position requires a strong mechanical and plumbing skill set with an emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, developing and maintain relationships and being and holding others accountable.
- This position requires someone who is well organized, consistent, dependable with high energy and the ability to perform a number of roles simultaneously while maintaining high standards of excellence.
- Responsible for overall customer – external and internal – satisfaction and relationships. Work with each group and business unit manager to assure customer satisfaction.
- Review all employee performance review forms to assure proper personnel interface between employee and the supervisor within the operations department.
- Maintain proper staff and structure within the operations department.
- Review, address and appropriate resolve other department managers concerns related to performance of the operations department.
- Group and/or business unit Vice President will keep the President appraised of all major developments and concerns on these types of issues.
- Conduct monthly project management meetings for the purpose of reviewing and/or resolving major performance and financial issues, and keeping all managers updated on department and corporate developments.
- Responsible for development, training, implementation and enforcement of operations department standard policies and procedures.
- Work with other department managers to make sure they have adequate staff and are providing the required services to the operations department.
- Assist with corporate marketing needs.
- This position requires a person who has an agile mind and skills combined to generate fast results
- Responsible for overall employee compensation and bonus administration within operations department.
- Responsible for the overall financial performance and execution of the operations group and supporting supplemental departments.
- Responsible for the execution of the overall vision, strategic planning and long-range business development for the operations department.
- Work with each operations group and business unit manager on both performance and operations of their group(s) or business unit(s), giving them guidance, support and direction when necessary on difficult issues.
- Oversee and/or review all operations changes, schedule impacts, legal issues, problems or challenges and bring them to an amicable and profitable resolution.
- This position will require a natural leader who possess logical and analytical long-range thinking and planning and that functions well in a fast-paced environment.
What is expected of an Vice President of Operations:
- Determines and promotes company goals, strategies, products, services and achievements to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Establishes directions and leads the development of short and long-term corporate strategies and objectives.
- Ultimate accountability for performance results of the organization.
- Top level of leadership for major corporate function or strategic business group.
- Owns part of the company business strategy development and support initiatives.
- Master’s college/university graduate with equivalent combination of skills and experience required.
- Accountable for critical decisions and integrating strategies cross-functionally.
- 15+ years of experience expected as an Operations Manager/VP with all experience being with a commercial mechanical contractor that performs job scopes over 50 million.

- All of our client's employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirements of Orientation, shop specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 10.
