AECOM is seeking a Construction Engineer to be located in our Denver, CO office.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate with local agencies and regulatory authorities
• Monitor Contractors’ activities and conformance with Contract Documents
• Contractor invoicing, including review, recommendation, tracking
• Oversee the overall Quality Assurance for construction activities and work products
• Support risk analysis/mitigation and lessons learned
• Presenting construction project progress updates to Clients, Owners, and Senior Management.
• Perform quantity and cost estimates, and alternative assessments.
• Develop tangible engineering design skills through field experience. This may include construction support (verification of design implementation, adherence to quality, contractor/owner engagement), site inspections, and geotechnical investigations.
• Provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions.
• Preparing financial and schedule projections.
• Have experience with MS Office (Excel, Word & Project), and SharePoint
• Participate actively in client meetings.
• Coordinate and integrate civil design with results from geotechnical, structural, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical designs.
• Contribute to the design of regional dams and spillways
• Documenting processes and keeping detailed construction logs.
• Contribute technical expertise to project drawings and designs.
• Responsible for the development of technical specifications
• Coordinate the development of engineering drawings and visual aids. Back check the drawing production and coordinate drawing development between the drafters and the discipline leads. Lead and document constructability and discipline reviews.
• Support all facets of construction including:
  • Contractor invoicing, including review, recommendation, tracking
  • Liaising between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Documenting processes and keeping detailed construction logs.
  • Presenting construction project progress updates to Clients, Owners, and Senior Management.
  • RFI/Submittal review, QA, tracking, and recommendations
  • Coordinate with local agencies and regulatory authorities
  • Support risk analysis/mitigation and lessons learned
• Liaising between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• RFI/Submittal review, QA, tracking, and recommendations
• Generate conceptual layouts/designs and perform calculations/analyses for structures .

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Valid driver’s license required.

State-approved professional engineering license.

Preferred Qualifications

Skills/Experience (Including any required Certifications):

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
• Colorado PE
• Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
• Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency and attention to detail with track record of high quality work products
• Experience with and ability to make informed decisions regarding drilling, field investigations, and construction
• Strong personal safety awareness
• Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret design drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Experience with construction of heavy civil construction
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• 15+ years' experience of providing construction oversight, quality assurance, and field engineering
• Experience with developing technical specifications
• Advanced proficiency in construction management software.
• Experience with field materials testing and soils and concrete laboratory testing
• Experience with geotechnical/geological investigation, evaluation, recommendations and construction

Additional Information

• Relocation is not available for this position.
• Regular project site travel is required.
• Sponsorship may be available for existing US Employment Visa holders.
• Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000.
