The Dormify buying/merchandising team is responsible for developing and managing the right product assortment to drive sales, inventory, and profit objectives. The team operates as a central hub that interacts with nearly all cross-functional teams within the organization, but most closely partners with the design, sourcing, planning + distribution, visual, and marketing teams to develop and market the assortment of products.

About The Role

The VP of Merchandising leads Dormify’s merchandising/buying team and is responsible for the successful development, communication, and execution of key focus areas within each of Dormify’s product categories. This role will oversee a team of Category Managers, Merchandise Planners, and Product Sourcing Strategists while setting the organization’s buying vision and managing its execution in order to meet and exceed financial goals.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Inspire a consumer-focused, innovative, and collaborative approach;
• Effectively allocate Open to Buy dollars;
• Maximize sell thru for each line of business;
• Work closely with the Brand and Creative teams to plan and prep photoshoots;
• Develop the assortment plan for all channels (i.e., Amazon, Walmart, Follet);
• Share key learnings and driving initiatives across the business;
• Collaborate with creative & digital marketing teams to strategize email campaigns for each LOB;
• Work with our site merchandising team to effectively showcase items;
• Define new good, better, and the best strategy for Dormify and for all categories;
• Collaborate on product-level merchandising strategy for 3P marketplaces;
• Drive sourcing plans (e.g., source fulfilled items with multiple vendors - at least 3);
• Introduce and execute new merchandising initiatives;
• Review vendor matrix and hindsight documents by brand, by business line
• Partner cross-functionally, particularly with marketing, planning, eComm, and marketplaces;
• Target Dormify product collaborations and drive the outreach strategy;

We expect this leader to have a proven track record of building, leading, and managing teams with diverse skill sets, and the ability to hire and develop talent. As a senior leader in our organization, you will also collaborate closely with other functional leaders. Additional skills include:

• Previous strategic experience in digital merchandising space
• BA or BS degree preferred
• +8 years’ experience, in a Sr Director or above Merchandising role
• Adept at the broadest strategic level, while also managing manual day-to-day tools/systems

The salary range for this role is $180,000 to $200,000 including bonuses, dependent on experience.
